JESSE is freely available to anyone with an Internet connection. The JESSE server tracks routine information about IP address, browser type, time of access, duration of access and files browsed, etc. This information establishes patterns of use of the site as a whole (not by individuals) which helps to provide better service. JESSE may also implement browser "cookies" to further improve its service. Information in these "cookies" is only available to JESSE (e.g. to identify if you as a return visitor) and will not be shared with others.

Information requested by JESSE in order to subscribe (e.g. name and email) is only used for the JESSE subscription service. Subscribers may choose not to disclose their membership on the JESSE list as a list management option at http://lists.usra.edu/mailman/listinfo/jesse

Opportunities to join special interest groups and review discussion via electronic forums require users to self identify for the purpose of the discussion. Forum users should expect their review discussion and identity to be maintained as a record of the process.
